| Pec pod Snezkou | |
| The town of Pec pod Snezkou is one of the most sought after tourism centers in the whole of the Czech Republic. The town lies in the valley of the river Aupa, Zelený and Luèní potok, and offers natural surroundings at its best between the peaks of Èerná hora ( 1299m), Jelení vrch ( 1024m), Lièí hora ( 1363m), Studnièní hora ( 1554m) and
Snezkou. The border mountain to Poland is the Snezkou (1607m) which is the highest mountain of the Czech Republic. Part of
Pec pod Snezkou are the neigbouring communities of Velká Úpa, as well as several mountain communities and farms high up on the ridges. Of great importance, for the development of tourism, was the construction of the cable car Pec - Ruova hora - Snezka and the establishing of a system of ski-lifts and slopes. |
