DESCRIPTION: The solid "Steinhaus Horizon 4000" is situated in the town of Montana. The Violettes cable car station is just 3 minutes away by ski bus, and the town center is only 10 minutes walking distance. The bar is a known meeting point. Here, there have been numorous unforgettable parties! There is a dining room / community room, with a winter garden which leads directly out to the large sun terrace. From here, you have wonderful views over the Rhone valley. Also, there is a sauna, perfect to relax in after a day's skiing! Most rooms are with a hand basin, and the shower/wc are in the hallways. The rooms are as 2-bed or 4-bed rooms, containing bunk beds.

SERVICE: Mornings, a large breakfast buffet is prepared, and afterwards you may put a lunch packet together yourselves. Each evening there is a 3-4 course evening menu. The rooms are cleaned once a week (on day of arrival), and the sanitary rooms daily. Your help is required setting the table, and clearing away. You may also help with washing-up.... but this doesn't mean that you have to! Cheaply priced beer, wine, and water is available with the meals.

FACTS

Situated on a sunny plateau, at 1500m above sea level, with views over Rhonetal and the Swiss mountain range, this is a place uncompareable to anywhere else! Gruaranteed snow because of its Plaine Morte glacier (3000m), and also, it has in fact the most sun in the west Alps. The wide, open slopes to the east and south are ideal for snowboarding and carving. There are 160km ski slopes, 40km difficult, 80km mid-difficulty, and 40km easy. Also there is plenty of deep-snow to tackle! The best know of these deep snow areas are the Plaine Morte, Aminona, and Col de Pochet. For the snowboarders, there is a 150m long halfpipe, and 2 snowparks perfect for freestylers.

THE TOWN: Crans Montana is one of the famous ski towns in Switzerland. It has much to offer, such as indoor swimming baths, squash, tennis, riding, and paragliding. In the eastern side of the town center, it offers just as much as any larger town. You find boutiques, sports shops, jewellery shops, cafes, bars, and discos.

THE SLOPES: Most of the slopes are above the forest border. The world championship slope "National", offers you the possibility of tackling its 8km downhill slope, (right up until April), from Plain Morte to Montana Violettes. The five cable cars from Crans Montana to the glacier ski region, guarantee no long queues of waiting!
